Headed to Duke tomorrow for Alimta but got some really good news today. The lung transplant doctor is willing to go the extra mile with me and do more test. While this does not mean I am accepted , it is very positive that he has decided if I can take the operation, I am in. I should test over the next 30 days, and then go on the list soon after that. I do not know what these test are, but I am hopeful I will do well. If I get a lung transplant, and if the cancer does not come back, here are my percentages:

Not reject after 1 year 90%
Not reject after 5 years 65%
Not reject after 10 years 30%

I will take those over my current odds!

The prayer warriors are on it, Bo! We pray for you everyday - you WILL beat the odds!!! We pray for Addi and Christi too. (By the way, the kids were so excited to see your hand-written note thanking them for their prayers. Thanks for taking the time to do that - I'm sure it energized them to pray even harder.)
Take care, Lori

Wow! Congrats. I was just logging on to say I was thinking of you while at the gym this morning and literally as I was sending up my good thoughts for you a woman in a thoracic transplant team jacket walked by! I'll admit I got a little unsettled! But, couldn't wait to tell you! (I work out at a hospital gym). Fingers crossed for you and the gang.

CJ, Hannah and of course T and I are really pulling for you. I'm glad to here the great news. Unlike your exams at APP, I'm sure you will pass these with flying colors. Kidding of course. Keep fighting buddy.

Bo, my brother, Caine, his wife, Laurie, and I met you and Christi briefly at Duke last summer shortly after he was diagnosed. You were so kind and an inspiration to us at a time when we were filled with uncertainty and fear. We have been following your story and how you continue to demonstrate great courage and strength against the evil beast. Know that the Halters in SC have you in our thoughts and prayers and are pulling for you as you work towards a transplant!
