Today has been another day a great focus. Bo is walking further and further everyday, they are really pushing him so that as he gets stronger, he will be able to come off the vent completely. I really think this will happen within the next week. Then we will move to step down for a while. Bo has to have one more procedure done called a "wrap" procedure to help with his acid reflux. This will leave him in the hospital for a couple days feeling just awful, but in time that will pass. (nausea) Once this is all done, I will let you know when we can visitors. In ICU it is very limited and until he gets through his final procedure, they will limit who can see Bo. Germs will be another major factor, he is on extreme immune suppressants, so we will always have to be extremely cautious around Bo. Who knows what germs we are all carrying. I only mention this because I know everyone knows how far we have come and are anxious to see Bo (as we are to see you) Just know that they are still limiting us and being extremely cautious with Bo. We are still in ICU, so we just have to keep being patient.
I did want to mention that Bo's labs came back and there didn't appear to be any rejection, or any cancer. His new lungs are working great! Score one for Team Bo!
Take care and I know I will post soon that we are moving on to another step in this process.
Love
Christi and Addi, and Bo

Hi Christi (And Addi)...

You tell Bo that there's a 48-year-old "kid" in Chicago with two new lungs who is so freakin' proud of him... He's been through some incredible obstacles -- and he's got a few more to get through -- but he's got Addi and you... And I think you know that alone would give him the strenght to climb any mountain...

He's in my thoughts and prayers... He's doing amazing -- though I'm quite sure he doesn't always feel that way -- but he'll look back on this in a few years and realize the journey he's been on...

Please tell him I think he ROCKS!!! I'm proud o him -- and I'm also proud of Team Bo... You and Addi are in my thoughts and prayers too... These "teams" mean so much to us patients -- they're driven by love, and they inspire us to keep reaching...

Love,

Steve

Christi and Addi:

Congrats! You are all so awesome. We have been watching the blogs from Dallas and cannot believe how great Bo is doing. How great is God to watch over you all so carefully, and to give Bo such a wonderful family and support team. He obviously is Blessed.

I had a weird trip to ICU last week, but all is well. I can only imagine from my small scare and two days in hospital...what you are going thru and what incredible miracles Bo has been Blessed.

Keep up the courage!!!! Your inspiring many many people to not simply do all they can....but to then do as Christ did "and then some"!

Blessings to all from Dallas Texas. Give Bo our Texas Best!

We are all praying!
