As you can imagine today has been felt with many highs and lows. My quiet house, pictures that bring smiles, stories that bring laughter and heart ache that brings tears. I knew I could never prepare for this day, so I never tried. It would always be a thousand times worse, it is. But, we will never give up (Go Heels, that will forever follow that phrase with a little murmur from me) Addi is stronger than I could ever imagine and I will follow her example.

Christi, I can not even imagine the day you must have had, I thought about you so much and just kept thinking about all you and Addi have been through. It is no surprise how strong Addi is when you think of her dad. I will see you Tues evening.

Hi, Christi, you and Addi have been in our thoughts all day, for the last several weeks, and, of course, for the last few years. Our hearts are breaking for you both but you have demonstrated over and over again your ability to handle any crisis with grace, courage, and strength. I so wish we could be there to show our support to you, Addi, and Bo this week.

This was posted on my blog from a friend and I thought I would share it with you.

I have been following that blog and Bo's Journey since i was a Sr. in Highschool, (since i saw the link on your blog). Even though i do not know the family personally, I have found him so inspiring, and did pray for him last night. I hope his family and little girl are so very proud of him, and i wish them the best. They are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Bo,

First of all, I'm glad to see you're all ready putting in work up in heaven. I think you were just a little late in saving the Heels today, though. You did help App State with a big win, so thanks.

Thanks... is a very simple overlooked and undervalued word, but is the most appropriate word and theme I have come to while pondering over what to say this past week. I have been back and forth, choked back tears, and erased lots of pre-posts.

Here goes... thanks for being a friend, brother, mentor, educator, boss, and so much more in my life and my family's life. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your life. Thanks for taking a chance on hiring me and inviting me to be a part of the FIG family that you created. Thanks for listening to me and understanding me (or pretending to understand what I so oftentimes was quickly saying). Thanks for letting me watch the World Cup in your office while neglecting my work that you hired me to do. Thanks for coming to the hospital to welcome Connor into the world when I know it was tough for you to be there. Thanks for being stronger than words can describe. Thanks for being you (and making no excuses for being you) every minute of every day. Thanks for memories that I will share with my children. Thanks for the 5 B's. Thanks for so much more than I can say or type.

I hope that I can touch one life in my lifetime the way you have touched my life and so many others. I love you and hope they have Diet Mtn. Dew in heaven.

P.S. --> If you could help USA in the World Cup next summer and help Delhomme's arm that would be great.

Christi & Addi,

May God's peace be with you in this loss of Bo. He has moved on to that better place with no more suffering. It will take some time to get over the pain but rest in the comfort of your friends & family and eventually it does not hurt so bad. Bo was an awesome person & a dear friend to me. We will miss his generous and energetic spirit always. Rest in peace mi amigo.

Sending our love,

Casey, Shelly, Cameron & Caroline Mott

Dear Christi and Addi,

We are so sorry to hear about Bo. You all have fought this disease as best as anyone I know. It's been an unbelievable 3 and 1/2 years. Thank you for having the blog and allowing us and all the other people who care so much for Bo, to stay abreast of the difficult journey that you all have traveled. Christi, please let me know how I can help you. I know you have family here, but if you need me to keep Addi anytime or take her anywhere, I would be delighted.

You and all the family are in our thoughts and prayers. Bo was loved by all who knew him. I will always remember his kindness, humor, generosity, overall love for mankind, and his inner strength to fight the tough battle for such a long time and keep the positive attitude and faith that you all have had. God bless you.

Love,
Peggy and David

We are thinking about you and the entire family during this very difficult time. You all saw the best and the worst through this journey, and because of that it will hurt the most to those that were fortunate enough to be closest to Bo. We are only releived that Bo no longer has to suffer here on earth, but can sit in a very comfortable place to watch over his family and friends in heaven.

We cherish the short time that we were able to spend with Bo, and will be happy knowing that we had that time. We are so glad that we were able to come to NC and were able to visit with the Cain's and Johnson's in June.

Our hearts and prayers are with you all.

Hugs to all from afar...

Dear Christi,

My heart aches for you, Addi, and all the friends and family that will miss his presence so. He will slways be a shining light in my heart and also for everyone that ever knew him or knew of him. You and Addi will be able to carry him with you forever and ever. The strength you have Christi is beyond understanding. So much love you've given through the never-ending challenges. And now another challenge that I know with your faith and friends and family you will find some peace through these days ahead. I pray for you still. Much love to you and Addi,

Johnson Family,

I received news that Bo had passed and I am deeply touched by what kind of man he must have been. I did not know Bo personally, but any TARHEEL FAN is a friend of mine. We will play in your honor and try our best to make you proud.

God, please wrap your love around this family and take care of Bo.

Thanks for all of your support over the years.

Today, we lost another TARHEEL, but this team will not forget you!

To all the Johnson Family

Dee and I send our heartfelt sympathies. Being the fortunate ones to have actually met with and spent time with Bo, we can feel the loss of this good man more than some but not nearly as much as those of you who parented, loved as a wife, daughter and the rest of the immediate family.

We cant be with you this week as you say goodby to Bo, but you will be in our prayers.

Christi...David left a text message on Bo's phone Friday..if Bo didnt get to hear it, please make sure you read it and share it with Addi. David is having surgery this week and wont be able to join you, but I know he will be with you in spirit.

Love to you all.

Christi and Addi,
Your Bo was my hero. When my daughter was going through her 2nd bone marrow transplant at he U of M, he sent an Angel Bear to her and a note that he was thinking about her. After she passed away, he sent a check for $5000 to the HopeKids organization to be the sole sponsor of the Food Booth at the 2nd Annual Allianz HopeDay Festival, in her memory. I have never met anybody as kind, giving and compassionate as Bo.

I wanted to give you some comfort in knowing that my sweet angel, McKenna, has probably already welcomed Bo to Heaven. I'm sure she will tease and play with him, just like she did with all of her daddy's friends.

My heart aches for your sadness and loss. I was really hoping that Bo would live forever. This earth could use a LOT more people just like him.

Love and prayers from Minnesota.
