Hello to All and Happy Father's Day - Thank you to everyone that reached out to Addi and I during this holiday and as we miss Bo all the time, I am grateful for the men in my life that help to fill the void. I do have to say all these men come in different shape, size, forms and relationships and (most of the time) I thank God for them. Addi and have tried to take the attitude that we are grateful for the time and stories that we have of her Daddy. We cherish the moments with him. So this year we visited Grandfather Mountain, "Daddy's Special Spot." Unfortunately the weather was not working with us and it rained most of the time, so no hiking. What is about the same as hiking, shopping! Anyone that truly knew Bo, knows this is what he would have done for her as well. I did find Addi at one point praying in the back seat for the rain to stop, but I guess we needed that more than to go outside. We did get to eat a wonderful lunch in Boone with Grams, Papa, Aunt Tracia and Aunt Caroline, Daniel Boone Inn. Her Daddy would have been proud. Then I drove her around and tried to remember all the "glory day" stories from Appalachian. We even drove past the "Blue House." If anyone "can" share those stories Addi would love to hear them. She wants to know all about the "parties" you all had. "Mommy were they for birthday and graduations." I will let all you Sigma Nus tell her about them...I wasn't there so I don't know. All and all we had a good day.

Hello to All - I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and not melting away. Addi is doing well, her arm, I think, is getting stronger and better. I feel much more optimistic that she will make a full recovery in time. Her fingers are all now moving with the nerve damage, we are just waiting on one knuckle to start to bend. Yeah! With that being said, I am still limiting her activities to mostly swimming. We signed up for the swim team this year and we had our first swim meet on Saturday. Here are a few pictures of the girl in action!

Take care and love to All

Hello to All -
It is crazy to think that Bo has now been gone for a year and a half. Today we took and kept it quiet at home. This actually happened by Addi's choice. I gave her many options of things to do and she just wanted a Mommy Addi day at home. So while she played I tackled cleaning the toy room. That is one room that I spent 5 hours in sorting through stuff and walked away not feeling like I got anything accomplished. UGH! But it was a fun day of ponies, Littlest Pet Shop, Strawberry Shortcake and Polly Pockets. Now that I say I that I realize why I felt like nothing got done. Oh well, the time is priceless.
With that being said a true sweet story….tonight I was taking the trash out and noticed the fire flies out. I run inside to get Addi, who is suppose to be heading for bed and make her run outside without telling her what we are going to do. As soon as she gets outside her eyes light up and we start chasing. Which by the way being a farm girl we never had outside lights on our house or yard lights. I kept getting blinded by the yard lights or catching them from the corner of my eye, getting side tracked. We catch one and out of her mouth goes, “Now Mommy we must make a wish (why didn’t I think of that as a kid for when you catch a firefly. We just let ours go, anyway)” “I wish for Daddy, Mommy, The Buddies and Me, Great-Great Grandpa, Brazi (neighbor’s dog). I just wish no one had to die.” That was our wish for everyone we caught…sweet little girl. It was hilarious though running through our yard, the neighbors yard and down the street to chase them. You now know what we will be doing at dusk. I sure hope no one wants to sleep, because our squeals are loud!
