Hello to All - Oh what wonderful weather we are having here in NC! It has been raining some, but the weekends lately are making up for that. I apologize for the delay in posting, we have been busy! But once again the weekend strikes and we must post for your entertainment.
First, a HUGE Thank you to everyone that supported Addi's Cure's event, "Beating the Odds." We raised over $10,000 and money is still coming in. We are so blessed to have the incredible support and legacy for Bo and our family through Addi's Cure. THANK YOU again!
As I mentioned before we have had beautiful weather on the weekends which is making for some great fun outdoors. Addi is a child that loves nature and exploring, but genetically the kids used all her luck getting Bo and I as parents. Once again we were back at Urgent Care/ER for and Addi Accident on the playground. I know seriously! My Mom keeps reminding me that I have taken Addi to the ER more than she took all 5 of us kids. Then again we were told to "rub a little dirt in it" and it will be okay :) Just kidding, Not really!
She was at the park on the corner, a place have played at since she could walk, mind you she walked at 8 months) and she swung between a monkey bar like contraption and on her way down, banged the back of her head. I truly must have been a nurse or doctor in a previous life, I grabbed the head and got the bleeding to stop pretty quickly, which is impressive with a head wound I might say so myself. Got her home to check it out (and grab the insurance card - I have learned to now grab the house keys, phone and insurance card anytime we go out) Decided a trip was need to the doctor and low and behold, she got 3 staples in the back of her head. First, Addi has the best tolerance for pain, she was amazing, Second - Urgent care got us in and out in 1 hour (they do keep her file on the counter there though I think) Third - She has a greatest friends that when we were done, we went right back to the park to show her friends she was alright. They all came running up to her (scared her a little) then Addi took off for the swings and 5 minutes later the same monkey bars. I guess when you fall of that horse you are suppose to get right back on, right?
Needless to say we went home before she got to sweaty playing, watched a movie, ate a snack and was same ol Addi. A little sore at bedtime when the numbing medicine wore off, but good. This morning she even let me know she could "touch the staples". I think Addi is more excited I cant really brush her hair for a couple days.
So the Johnson's are good. Buying stock in the medical world, but good. Thank you dear friends that were worried about us and helped us through another ordeal. But I am now realizing I might have a long 13 more years of this. I will probably still take her at 18, but then I should change it to say her "adult injuries" This whole 5 year old thing is getting tiresome.
Love to All
