Good Morning. It’s time to send your prayers up in earnest this Sunday morning as Bo went into surgery just a little while ago for his second lung transplant. Word came in during the night that the donating lungs were a match.

The procedure will take approximately 6-7 hours. Progress will be posted as available.

Pray that these lungs are the solution!

I am reading again but now wanted to write for the first time and say my family and I are here for you. Although my husband too has been through cancer it wasn't like this. We pray for your continued strength through everything that comes. God bless you all! Going to St. Mark Catholic Church today and will be praying hard. We are with you in prayers! With love, Louise, Chuck, and boys

Walk with Love along the way Bo and Christi -- and Addi -- know your love of your Dad is a part of his strength.

Kate's mantra was Be Focused, Be Steadfast, and Don't quit! Rock On Bo.

My prayers are with you all -- family, friends, medical teams. I will ask St. Alban's in Worship at the Lake today.

Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Bo,

If all of the prayers winging though the sky today to God were white doves, the sky would be pure white...family, friends, co-workers, and even those you have never met, all share the same prayer. We all want you to get better soon and made a full recovery. Also, may God hold Christi and Addi in his hands during the next few hours...our thoughts and prayers are with them also.

Come on Bo, just another hill. we can do this!

Uncle Bo,

It's Sunday morning and I explained to your niece Ryan the current situation and asked her if she had anything thing she wanted to tell her uncle Bo. She immediatedly said "Don't worry Aunt Christi, Uncle Bo and Addi...it will be okay." She is only 2 1/2, she sounds so sure and confident...so I am taking it for truth. We just want you to know we can't wait to see you and do all things families do together. - Curtis and Ryan.

This was in my daily devotional, thought I would share.

June 1:

Look at the birds. (Mt 6:26 NIV)

Ever wonder why geese in the Fall fly in a V formation and not just randomly? Remember that old UNITED AIRLINES ad, "Fly the friendly skies of UNITED"? Geese know that to complete the long trip south they have to fly united. Science tells us that flying in a V formation increases their flight range by up to 71% . Air waves created each time a bird flaps it's wings provide and airlift for the next one in formation, supporting it and decreasing it's workloadand conserving it's energy. A solo goose could never complete the trip, but in formation the oldest, youngest, and the weakest can complete the journey.

What can we learn from this?

We can do collectively what we could never do alone.

Bo & Christi,

Please know that you have more people than you could ever imagine lifting you up with prayer.

Miracles can and do happen. Thank God for organ donors, excellent doctors, caring nurses, a loving and supportive family, and one tough guy who has beaten the odds for over two years and never gave up. Never did, never will.

Hi Bo & Christi-
This is Jen Plym with www.charlottesmartypants.com. We featured you all a few months back as Smarty Dad on our site and we couldn't have been more honored. We lost our dear friend, Jennifer Bunich, to lung cancer and we're praying every day for Bo's triumph over this disease. I was so excited to read a few days ago that he was getting a lung transplant and have been following your blog daily. My prayers go out to you all during this difficult time. I know Bo is a fighter and he's in there right now doing everything he can:-)
Hugs from Charlotte Smarty Pants! -Jen

I went for a long bike ride this morning and as I was thinking about Bo, I looked down and saw these wildflowers that had grown through the newly paved bike trail. These flowers had knocked holes in the new asphalt to grow...and prosper. Life and growth are powerful energies. I have no doubt Bo will do the same. Sarah (chicago).
