Good Evening Everyone - Well as I mentioned before Bo is back in ICU and resting well. He has been on the vent since last night and resting well. He gas levels are pretty much back to normal, his fluid levels are getting better and his hand is healing remarkably well. So we are on a calm path tomorrow. The are contemplating moving Bo to a different floor that allows a few rooms to have ventilators in them so is isn't such a culture shock to move him from ICU to "step-down". I think that would help his greatly. You get incredible care by the nurses (one on one attention) while you are in ICU, that when you go to the regular floor you almost feel like you are alone and ignored (which is not true, in Bo's eyes it just feels like it) So switching him to this other floor will allow him to adjust to the non-one on one attention and then slowing wean him off the vent with the less attention. Small steps - but always in the right direction. Thank you all for posting the encouraging comments to Bo. I just never want him "comfortable" in the hospital. We all need him so much!
Love to all
Christi, Addi and Bo

Having just gone through this with my dad, I learned that nothing is more important than prayer! With all the ups and downs of recovery -only faith in God as the great physican will get you through. My family and I pray for you daily. My dad especially as he has walked this same road. We pray for your recovery Bo and for grace and strength for your family.
Although we don't always understand God's ways - we can always trust in His great love for us!

God bless you and your family,
Miss Kim

Bo and Christi,
Keep working hard and get out of that hospital so you can come see all of us. The Johnson reunion is coming up in August. Papa would love for you to be there. He is very proud of you and how hard you are working to get out of the hospital. Stay positive and remember you are living life now. You don't have to fight to live anymore. The cancer is gone and you have new wheels (lungs) for traveling.
We think of you everyday and send you love, hope, prayers, and lots of laughter.
Love,
Aunt Mary and Uncle Jeff

Let's go Bo. You've got places to go, things to do, people to see. There are so many people rooting for you out here. We all realize you've been fighting an uphill battle for a long time, but you are so close to breaking over the top and enjoying the view. Looking forward to seeing you soon...

OK Mr. Bo Johnson, the Prayer Warriors in Des Moines have a message for you. They are sending up light beams to God with special instructions to get you out of ICU for good. You can do it, you will do it, and we're rooting for you. Just think of how much you've already been through and how far you have already come. Hang in there, keep the faith, and stay strong. We are PRAYING for you EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Bo we want you to get better so you can come and finally take a tour on a submarine. You can come to CT when you get out of there or in about a year and a half you can meet up with us in Hawaii. Take your pick, the Northeast with tons of history and places to see or sandy beaches and the noise of the ocean. We love you and can't wait to see you guys too. -Crystal

Keep taking those "small steps" for they lead to those "big steps" out of Duke. So proud of you guys. We are praying for you continually and expecting "good reports". Even going back to ICU as it is a long way from where you began. Blessings
