Hello to all! Well Addi and I (Christi) had our first visit to Tweetsie Railroad in Boone/

Blowing Rock, NC this weekend. We went up there with Papa and Grams Cain and Cousin Joe and Aunt Andrea and Uncle Daniel. I do have to say my daughter is fearless. She rode everything that she could, of course with her Daddy beside her. Anything that resembled a horse had to be touched if not sat on. She even had a good time riding the train. The weather wasn't really cooperating with us (it rained most of the time), but it was nothing compared to what the family in Kansas has been dealing with. Please everyone keep in your prayers those people dealing with the tornado devastation. My family in on the eastern side of Kansas, so they have had some strong storms, but nothing has come across their path.

All and All a good weekend here just playing with Dad and Addi. She is becoming a comedian. Anytime anyone laughs she thinks she did it and copies them. She is also very fond of her necklaces Daddy bought her. She wears 6 of them at one time! What a mess...

Take care

Christi and Addi

Hope everyone is doing great. I had to go to Arizona for a meeting last week, and I stayed on Friday and Saturday to play golf. My buddy Steve asked me to play in the member guest at Whisper Rock in Phoenix. I can not even tell you how awesome it was. The weekend is called the Horseshoe. We did pretty well, winning our first match, but then losing our second. The final day we finished two shots out of the money.... We had a caddy named Caveman and I put a picture up of Steve, me, and Caveman. Caveman tried to help me on short wedges, and I did not make him proud. I also put up a picture of me just hanging out, and Steve making a birdie putt. It was a lot of fun eve and I are playing in my clubs member guest in June.

It was a great weekend. I was really happy to get back to see Addi and Christi. They were supposed to come with me, but decided not to at the last minute. They had a fun weekend too. Addi was very happy to see her daddy.

Hello everyone (Christi here- I will make sure to specify every time so there is no confusion, by the way good one anonymous about the heels) Things here are pretty good. I have had a few people call and check about Bo's Duke visit on Monday. Pretty much the same. They checked his vitals talked with him and he did Avastin. Every 9 weeks is when we have scans and find out how the medicine is working. So mark your calendars for June 5th, that will be the next big one. (And for those detailed readers, we did switch the scans from every 6 weeks to 9, hopefully this will help Bo to stay away from the radiation some, typical protocol is every 12)
Bo is busy in meetings all day today and was yesterday so Addi and I are fending for ourselves, we don't even have Dad to call and harass us. Just kidding.
Nothing new to report here, Bo and I did celebrate our 3 year anniversary on Tuesday so that was a nice day for us. It is sometimes weird to think that having the 3 year mark come by is huge celebration in a couples life. But last May really put everything into perspective. We are not really big on celebrating these things, but I am forever grateful to everyone praying out there because I can't imagine my life without Bo and thankfully I don't have to. So for another year I get to forever harass my husband for punching our reader in the eye the night before the wedding and giving him a black eye. Gotta love a man that will do that!
Also I thought I would put a couple of new pics of Addi's new hair, Watch out boys!
PS I do have to say that it is a blessing to have nothing new to report, for this minute while I am typing I feel like life is ordinary. I am not quite sure if this is a good thing or bad, but just nice.

Watch out Hollywood!

Do you think the paparazzi will know who is this star?

I am on my way to Duke for treatment tomorrow. This weekend was a lot of fun. My club had it's Member-Member this weekend, and I played in it with Phil. We had a blast and won our flight, and finished tied for 4th overall. Phil really played well.

This is going to be a great week at work.

Check out Addi's Cure, there have been several articles on Addi's Cure. Also please view this one from App State.... www.alumni.appstate.edu/blog

Thanks Lena!

I am very excited about the warm weather coming, leaving, and now back again. Addi loves to go outside, and last night Christi went to a meeting for Addi's Cure, and me and the pumpkin went to the park and played. Addi loves to swing and go down slides. We had a lot of fun.

Hello Everyone - Christi here. Well we survived the week with Dad out of town, barely. Unfortunately we were suppose to good to some good friends of ours for a baby shower and golf for Bo, but Addi must have been so excited to see Dad that she threw up. Now that is love...we stayed home to make sure she didn't have the stomach bug going around, but it appears it was a one time thing. So we got a weekend with Dad with nothing to do...it was great. We are so proud of him and his accomplishments. We did miss seeing Grand-Daddy and Great Papa, but hopefully we will get up there real soon, they will be so surprised with how big their Little Addi is getting.
We hope that everyone is feeling alright and hopefully we can see you all soon.
Christi and Addi

Just a quick post today, I am done. I just presented my final paper to my class. Unless something happens, I now have a Masters of Science in Management, with an emphasis on leadership. Sorry to gloat, but it was hard and I am just glad it is over.

I will be excited to get back as well. I am interested in seeing Addi's reaction when I get back!

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

On the last post, I asked people to leave a comment. As of this morning, 47 people had left something. I wanted to say thank you. I really appreciate it and it helps me look forward to posting things.

I am in PA now finishing up my masters. For the morning, we have been talking about ethics. It has really been interesting. At the end of the week, i have to present my final project, which is Addi's Cure. Everyone has been asking me questions about it, it has really been cool.

One of the comments asked me about if I am still eating right and living a healthy lifestyle. The answer is sort of. I am still doing my best on eating right. Christi has really tried hard to provide great food. Traveling has not been easy. Exercising has been tough to since I am so busy. This question made me decide to really press on with eating and exercising, thanks!

I will keep you up to date this week.....

I would like anyone that reads this to post a comment this time! I would like to set a record!

Went to Duke today for scans and really got great news. The cancer is stable again, and it might have even reduced some. Dr. Crawford said he sees a little reduction, but the Avastin really has not had time to work. I go back for a scan in 9 weeks now instead of every 6 weeks. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next. Maybe Avastin is the drug for a long time? It would be nice. I still take it intravenously (sp?) every three weeks.

Addi has been so funny lately. She is so grown up and runs everywhere. She is really awesome. I am finishing up my masters on April 13th, so I am happy that I will be able to spend even more time with Addi and Christi. I added a picture of her in her wagon. All she wants to do is run down the backyard and jump into Lake Norman! She really wants to get on the boat!

Wanted to say thanks to my cousin in CA for keeping in touch! Email me sometime!

Hello Everyone! Hope all is well.

This week was really busy, and next week is as well. Mark H., Jordan C., and Justin J. can in the office last week. We do business with a company named Aviva, and they came in just to hang out. They presented a BIG check to Addi's Cure. What was even nicer, is that Mark H. (President) gave a donation from his personal account. Very nice.

I played golf on Friday and today. 88 and 86. I have really been playing better lately. Won money both times, which is always important.

Going to Duke on Monday afternoon and have scans on Tuesday. Big day. We will see if the Avastin is working. I hope so...

Christi and Addi are doing well. Addi feels a lot better and made her Daddy realize he had a bad day the other day, but she will not let it happen again for awhile.... See you soon, and keep going to www.addiscure.org. There is a new article there, and I think there might be a tv spot soon. Some very nice people are also working on an event call Touch A Truck.... Working on it.

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Today I am home sick. Addi is sick as well. I think we both have the same thing. Christi took Addi to the doctor and she has bronchitis. I have really had a lot of time to think today, and I personally think this is bad. When you are laying in bed without anything to occupy your mind, you think about a lot of what ifs. While I am still very positive, I am worried about my family. It has not even been a year since I was told I was going to die soon, and I have already passed that point. I can not explain the feeling I have thinking that I may not be around to see Addi and Christi.

I think that everyone has a bad day once in awhile, and maybe this is mine. I do not feel defeated, just feel tired of having to think about it.

Christi is really been one of the best things that has happened to me. She has really been great about all of this. Most people really see me as the victim, but she is as well. I think she is really proud of me, but I am a lot more proud of the way she has handled this. Imagine if someone told you your significant other was going to die? Christi has built a life here in NC, but that life has me in all phases. I hope that when people pray for me, they also pray for Christi.

Hello to all! Well we made it back from Kansas and are finally settling into the home life again. Addi had such a wonderful time at my parents house with all the animals, it was sad to make her leave. She also got to play with Cousins Wyatt and Ryan, that was almost as cool as sitting on Grandpa's horse! For those that have been asking, thank you, my Dad is doing really well. He isn't slowing down much (I have the same problem with Bo. When will these two men cut me some slack and just take care of themselves and stop stressing me out!)

Sad that KU lost and then UNC, it looks like Bo and I made it through another March Madness without a Championship dividing us. I am not sure whether to be thankful for that or sad.

We had another Addi's Cure event at Gymboree this time, more geared towards kids. They have been incredibly supportive to Addi and myself. They hosted an open house and all bubbles that they sell in March they are giving a donation back to Addi's Cure. So if you have time, stop by the Gymboree Play Center and buy some bubbles! They also have a nice display about Addi's Cure. Nothing really new here, Bo is still working to much, Addi is going strong, getting more teeth and I am trying to balance the two of them. What was I thinking...just kidding I love them both dearly.

Take care

Christi

Don't forget to visit www.addiscure.org

Hope everyone is doing well. I came back from Kansas today, but was a little sad leaving Christi and Addi with her family. Addi was having a great time playing with her cousins Wyatt, Ryan, Ami, and Catlin. Christi was really happy to see her family as well. We got in on Friday night in time to watch the Kansas game and then basically went to bed. Saturday we messed around and watch Carolina play. We also had a party for Christi's mom, her birthday is today. It was a lot of fun. Sunday we wrnt to a big family gathering, I got to met Aunt Josie - who is 96 years old and the oldest redident of her town. She made me a stocking cap which was very nice. She is a spit fire. There were a lot of nice ladies there and all ask how I was doing. I told them great. Then we went back to watch KU.

Christi's Mom came to get me at 5:15 am this morning to take me to the airport. This is on her birthday. I think she is awesome.

Christi will update you as well on what she is doing this week in Kansas.... See u soon.

Hello to all and SO SORRY we have not posted in a while, Christi here. Needless to say it took a little time to recover from traveling to Hawaii, then the time change, Bo had a huge ACC Golf Tournament Weekend and this week has just been a blur. I know excuses are lame, but that is what I have. Addi loved and I mean loved Hawaii. She has decided she isn't a huge fan of sand (it might be because last time we were there she got wiped out by a wave) but she has taught herself to dunk her head and fall into the pool backwards. She truly has no fear even in water. We visted the pool every day and they even had a snokel pool, so we swam with some sting rays. Addi just chased Nemo in that pool. The company we were with were absoultly fabulous. They made it feel so much like family and showed us a great amount of suppot in encouragement. We promised we would be there next Year!
As I also mentioned, Bo planned a golf tournment with 12 of his old and new buddies Saturday and Sunday. (Yeah we did fly in from Hawaii on Thurs. leaving there Wed.) to have dinner with everyone on Friday. I cheated and just ordered pizza, but we grilled out on Saturday. It was great fun and we even got to become better acquainted with some new friends. Bo ended up winning the tournament (I know sounds fishy doesn't it) but if anyone has played golf with Bo, he is way serious and I doubt there was any cheating. I am sure whenever you all stop in he will show you his winning leaderboard. (Yes there was a leaderboard) I do love this man.
We are getting ready to visit the family in Kansas, I am so excited! It will be nice to celebrate my Mom's birthday, we won't say her age, but also my great aunt Josie, she is turning 96! She is amazing and has a great spunk about her. Gotta love those Katzers!

Anyway here are a few pics from the trip and I promise to do better!

Love you all
Christi and Addi
PS I just realized Bo posted today as well, so keep reading. (He is kidding about my family loving him more, at least he better be!)
Hope all is well. I wanted to make sure that everyone had an update. I am so sorry that I have not written in awhile, but it has been very busy. First let me list all of the donations Addi's Cure has gotten in 2007 so far:

I am so bless to have such good people in my life.

Ok, where do I begin. First let me say that I feel great and I still have no real effects from this. Can I run the Boston marathon? No, but I could not do this any way. I did go to the doctor and explained on an earlier blog that there was some growth. I started taking a drug called Avastin, and Monday of this week was my second treatment. The next time I go I hope they will see some reduction in my tumors.

I am going to go to Kansas soon to see the in-laws. I really think it bothers Christi that they like me more even than her! :) It is really fun in Kansas, and they make fun of the way I talk. Why, I do not know. Other great news, I had a golf tourn here in Charlotte for the ACC Tourn and actually came in first out of 12. It was a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to The 5B's Classic in Pinehurst this summer. I have been doing this trip 11 year (most were golf less) and I have never been close to winning. Feeling really good this year.

Please look at addiscure.org soon. There has been some changes. See you soon.

Just a quick update. We are in HI and having a blast. Addi loves the water and it getting very tan. We will be back soon, I will write more than....

Sometimes kids do the funniest things...

This is just a cute one from Valentine's Day

Sunday, February 25, 2007

Hello all. sorry for the delay in me writing. I hope everyone is doing well and keeping healthy. We had a great weekend here at the Johnson Household. Friday we had dinner at Phil and Lena's with 11 adults (minus Justin) and 9 kids. Needless to say it was fun, but a little crazy. On Saturday, I went to play golf (Phil, Rob, and Brian were in my foursome) and Addi and Christi met Lena and Kelly in the park, along with all the kids. I came home and chatted with Christi and Tracia while Addi was asleep for her afternoon nap. Then we all went to dinner and had a grat time at Birkdale Village. Sunday is a lazy day, although I am flying to OH later this afternoon for business.

We have a busy week ahead. I will not be back until Monday night, and I have a class. We leave on Thursday morning for HI, and will be getting back on the 8th. On the 9th, I am hosting an ACC Tournament Challenge for some of the boys. It last all weekend. We will be busy, biut having a lot of fun.

I wanted to give an update on Addi's Cure Dinner. It really was a huge success. Addi's Cure cleared after expenses a little over $12,000 for the evening. We did have one really big donation, but even if we excluded that, we still would have been over $7,000. Our goal was $5,000. I think it was a lot of fun, and we should do things like that more often, not just for charity. Robin, Lena, Rachel, Anna, Lauren, Candace, and Amy really did a great job with this dinner. I will have to be honest, I did not do anything, it was Christi and all the girls that did such a great job. There were over 180 people there, so it was a huge sucess in creating awareness and raising money. Here is a money update:

2006, we rasied $75,236.06. We gave a check for $37,500 to Duke, and $37,736.06 went into the Addi's Cure growth account. The interest from this money will be swept at the end of the year and will be given to Duke as well.
2007, so far this year we have rasied $21,405.57. At the end of the year, we will give half of this to Duke and the rest will go into the Addi's Cure account.

I also thought it may be wise to discuss our goals for Addi's Cure again. We would like to have $1,000,000 in the Addi's Cure account earning interest for cancer research. I know this is a lofty goal, but i think we can do it over time. If we get to this point, we will have also given $1,000,000 as well. (Half and Half formula.) Imagine, a small charity like us would have given almost half of what the US goverment gave in 2005 total. (2.1 million) That is a shame, but more the reason why we have to give. Everyone has done such a great job.

Masters update - I will finish in April. My final paper will be on Addi's Cure. I will keep you posted.

Last but not least, I wanted to give an update on my condition. As Christi posted earlier, I did have some growth. Dr. Crawford did say my tumors are still lower than when I first enrolled at Duke, but he wanted to try find the right formula for me, and maybe Tarceva alone was not going to cut it. We added Avastin. I take it every three weeks at Duke, just like chemo. In fact it is a form of chemo. It took 90 minutes the first time, but I took it very well. The next time they will give me the dose in 60 minutes. I feel the same and still have not felt bad. I am excited about this oppurtunity to see what this drug can do.

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

Hello to all, this is Christi. Bo and I want to apologize for not writing sooner, we have had a bunch of things happen in the last week. As we mentioned before we saw the doctor last Tuesday and when he eyeballed the scans everything appeared to be stable. When they went back and measured everything, it appears there has been some growth. The doctors called us on Friday with this information and requested we come up on Tuesday to talk about it a little more in depth and check out our options. Needless to say there was a little panic on Friday, but we truly believe still that we can fight this. Bo's cancer, since it isn't one large mass but more like rice scattered throughout his lungs, is harder to measure. That isn't saying his cancer isn't growing that is saying there is a possibility that this could be something else. Not quite sure what I would want it to be, but knowing as with any cancer nothing is set in stone. If his cancer can find a way to grow, then we just have to find another way to make it stop. We are trying another drug called Avastin. It has always been an option for us, we have just been waiting until the right time to try it. Bo is in WI right now, but he will talk more about this. I know this is huge to just put out there all the sudden, but do understand that we all are all right. We are going to keep fighting. Bo is still feeling good, he has never felt bad, they keep telling us all this stuff is happening, we think they might be crazy. Just kidding, not funny I know. But sometimes everyting is just a little to real.
On another note, we had our first Addi's Cure fundraiser Monday night. IT WAS SUCH A SUCCESS! Thank you everyone for coming and supporting us, we are honored to know and meet such wonderful and generous people. (I don't want to steal Bo's thunder, so he will write about this also)
Everyone take care, please know that we all Bo, Addi and myself are doing alright. But if you want to do something, please keep praying.
Love you all
Christi

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

I just wanted to post quickly, for it is early, that everything with the doctor went well yesterday. Everything is still stable and the Tarceva is working! I am still coughing a little, but they truly believe that the cough in my chest is from a cold with this winter weather. Christi thinks I need to wear a coat more often, which I probably do. We met with Bridget from the department that raises funds for Duke, and they have published us in their quarterly letter. I will see if Christi can find the link to it to post on the website. They also have asked me to speak at a conference in May about my story and Addi's Cure. I will present to some very important and influential people with Dr. Crawford.
On a sadder note Christi, Brian, Jennifer, Kristen and I went to the UNC Game against Virginia Tech last night, and UNC lost in overtime. Thanks to a great man, Scott, who got us tickets in the box seats. The game was fun, but the outcome was not. I still think they have a good chance of winning it all this year.
Also Happy Valentine's Day to my two girls. I love you both!

Just a quick update on Addi's Cure donations:

Jim Lober
Jim Anderson
Ann Arbor
Steve Neperud
Sissy Parks
Bob Axelrod

I will have a total soon, but we are doing really well for the start of 2007. Thanks to everyone!

I just came back from Flordia and the Allianz Championship. This is a senior tour event. I played golf twice, once at Boca Beach Club, and once in the pro am at Broken Sound Golf Club. It was a lot of fun. Phil went with me as well. I played in the pro am with Craig Stadler, and he was really nice. We had a blast. We did come in the top 10, but we did not win. I am glad to get back and see Addi and Christi.

Thursday, February 08, 2007

Hello everyone, Christi and Addi here just hanging out missing Dad. There really isn't much to report here. Addi is obsessed with her cowgirl hat, she insists on wearing it sideways. (Which is quite funny to see) And I am working on gettting Addi's Cure dinner sold out! We are getting closer, but don't be surprised if I come knocking on everyone's door. Just so everyone knows we do have to collect the money up front because it is a dinner and we need a better count on food. Thank you so much for everyone planning on attending it should be a great time with good food and music.
See you all there
Christi

These are for 2007 so far. I also wanted to announce that Addi's Cure is having a dinner in Cornelius on Feb 19, 2007. If you are interested in coming, please email info@addiscure.org for detail. It is $50.00 per person, and the venue is Mia Famigia, a great restuarant. It should be a lot of fun and of course for a good cause!

Sad news: There was a little boy mention in the comments on this blog. Here is an update - I just wanted to update everyone on little Sam Keziah that I had listed on your site. He passed away Friday morning with his mother holding him tight. Please be in prayer for the whole Keziah family as they deal with their loss. Again, if you would like to leave a message for the family their web site is: www.caringbridge.org/visit

This is why we need to fight these things. It really effects little kids and it is not fair....

Super Bowl Sunday! It is here at last. Last night we had FIG's Celebration for the 2006 year end. It was a lot of fun and I think people really liked their bonus checks! We are really lucky to have such great employees.

Tonight we are having a Super Bowl get together and looking for the Colts to win. If you are a Bears fan, sorry.

Next week I am off the The Allianz Championship down in Boca. Looking forward to it. Going to get to play golf with Phil and Eric, and see a lot of people I know.

I am almost done with my masters. It has been a lot of work, but I have learned a lot. I will finish up mid April, so I am looking forward to that. My last project is actually on Addi's Cure, so it will be fun. See you soon!

We have snow!

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Sorry for the delay in posting, they have changed the blogger website and it took me a while to figure things out. (This is Christi) We all made it back from Arizona. The trip was a good time, the weather was a little chilly for AZ, but not to cold for Bo and golf or Miss Addi in a heated pool. I do think our little girl might be a swimmer. She has no fear in water, she is already dunking her head. It looks like swimming lessons for me and her this summer.
We have had some exciting things happen when we were out of town. FIG won an award at the dinner we were at in AZ. It was such a big deal and a friend of ours presented it to us, so that was special. Eric said some wonderful things about FIG, Bill, Jo and Bo even a little about me that brought tears to my eyes. He truly is a special person and good with words. He made me so proud of Bo and his fight and desire to persevere is a tough situation. He spoke of FIG and Bo's passion for life. It was really special.
Another that is real special is one of the local papers wrote an article about Addi's Cure and the funds we are trying to raise. Here is the Linc to the article, Darlene did a wonderful job.

http://www.huntersvilleherald.com/articles/2007/01/26/news/local/local01.txt

Also I think we are finalizing the plans for our first Addi's Cure event. It will be a dinner here in Cornelius at one of the local restaurants. How exciting, I can't wait. Finally we can get donations and give something back, hopefully it will be a good time!

Everyone take care
Christi
PS we are all feeling good and excited for 2007

Thursday, January 25, 2007

Let me first apologize for our lack of typing, it is nice to say things are a little slow right now. Actually that is really nice to say. Right now Christi, Addi and I are in Arizona for a conference. The weather is nice just a little cool. Perfect for golf. We will hopefully relax and rest. I did go to Duke this week and things are good. I just went to pick up some more Tarceva and figure out why I am still coughing. The consensus is I have a touch of Bronchitis, I am on an antibiotic now and it appears to be doing wonders for me. Just makes me a little drowsy. We will do better in keeping things up to date with what we are doing.

Also a little shout out to our neice Ryan, she turns 1 tomorrow. We love you guys and Happy Birthday.

We just had to show Addi's new coat! It was the hit of her Christmas gifts from her crazy Great Uncle Mike! We are not wearing it much, but we sure do like to pet it! (Don't worry it isn't real!)

Hello Everyone! (Christi) Just a quick little note out there to let you all know that things are good here. I personally had a rough day yesterday, no rough physically or emotionally, let's just say a rough day with the dogs. Charlie got stuck and cut himself, but everyone is now okay. For more details just email me and I can fill you in on the rest. I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew and would help pray for two friends. I know not everyone reads the comments, so we wanted to make sure we always keep others in our thoughts and prayers. First is a sweet 4 year old little boy, that is fighting cancer, Sam Keziah . Below is the comments from Suella...

Bo,
It's been awhile since I have posted a comment, but I wanted to let you know that it is awesome to see the fruit of our prayers is working! I have a request to many of your strong prayer warriors. There is a little 4 year old boy in Levine's children hospital that has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Wilm's Disease. It started in his kidney and has now spread to his lungs. His parents took him for a dr visit due to congestion in his chest and this is the nightmare they have endured since the week of Christmas. He has a website: www.caringbridge.org/visit/samkeziah
where you can read their journal and post prayer comments in his guestbook. It's wonderful that Addi's Cure is providing funds to fight cancer! I am still praying for you and your family and I hope that many will start praying for Sam Keziah as well. As a parent- I can't imagine the heartache that is felt to see your child in pain and hooked to tubes.
Thanks for the opportunity to let others know!
Suella Russell

Next is for Ginny...she is an amazing lady that has overcome a lot in a short amount of time. Please pray for her continued success. Her friend wrote to us and shared Ginny's blog link...

Bo & Family... I'm one of your random readers from Chicago (came to you from another blog). I just wanted to let you know that a good friend of mine has been inspired by your journal of hope and energy and started her own.
http://www.vmezb.blogspot.com/

Thanks for letting people in to your story.. it reminds other folks that they aren't alone and if they share their story..someone will be there to listen. Sarah, Chicago IL

We know there is a lot of people out there fighting and overcoming remarkable odds. And Bo and I completely believe your constant prayers have helped us and will help others. Stay strong and positive, this is an unbelievable world we live in where people are overcoming unbelievable odds.

Love to All
Christi

I hope everyone is doing well. I am, and it has been a great week. Last night I stayed with Addi while Christi (Amy, Lena, Robin, Rachel, Candace, Anna, and Lauren) and friends had dinner and talked about some things to do for Addi's Cure. They came up with some good ideas, so be ready for some fun things going forward. Please do not forget to go to www.addiscure.org and submit recipes!

I have been feeling really good. I have been coughing some, but the doctors told me that they could see no difference in the cancer on jan 3rd. Other than that, i feel good.

Arin M. is coming to see me this weekend. I am excited to see him, he was my room mate in school.

Lance Armstrong has written a great article. Here is the link:

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year! (Christi) It looks like we are starting 2007 on the right foot. Bo had a doctor's appointment yesterday, I apologize for the delay, exhaustion set in, but his lung has healed itself. We are still unsure of what caused his lung to partially collapse, but there was some comments made about Bo's hunting and the possible buckshot, but it looks as though his body is taken care of itself. Also to add to that good news, the cancer still appears to be stable! Huge, it looks like the "miracle drug" as Bo calls it, it is working. We will keep following the clinical trial protocol and visit the doctors every 3 weeks, but scans every 6 weeks.
We took Addi up there with us this last time and I think she helped cheer a few people up. She definitely took it upon herself to meet everyone there. We presented the check to Jeff Woods, he is with fundraising and Dr. Crawford. He was so excited! Thank you everyone! These funds are going to be used immediately to help lung cancer research! Now we just have to start planning great things for 2007, we have some partying to do!
Thank you again everyone I will never be able to tell you how much you love and support mean to me and my family!

As New Year's Eve is upon us, I supposed it would be best to say that this year has certainly been full of surprises. While on the health front it has been a messed up year, I am very lucky to have such a successful business and such a great family life and friendships. I will have to say that 2006 has been a success overall.

I know that life gives you things sometimes that people think they can not handle, but I am her to tell you that anyone can handle it. I want my daughter to know that her daddy always handled things with a great attitude, whether I am here to tell her or not.

I hope that everyone has a great 2007. The Johnson's hope that 2007 brings joy and happiness to you and to yours....

Tuesday, December 26, 2006

Today I was sick with a head cold so I had to miss Christmas with my dad in Hendersonville. Christi and Addi went so we were represented, but I was pretty sad since I do not get to see my dad a lot. Christi and Addi said it was a lot of fun. I will get up there soon.

When I go back to Duke on Jan 3, I will present them with a check for Addi's Cure own source code. What this means is that we will know exactly what the money is going for, and I can report back to you what your dollars are doing.

I hope everyone had a happy holiday and spent a lot of time with friends and family.

Monday, December 25, 2006

Today was a great day. I got to spend Christmas with Addi and Christi. We woke up and let Addi play with her present, then we went to church. When we came back, Christi fixed turkey, stuffing, corn on the cob, green beans, and pumpkin pie. Jo and Bill came over with Tracia and Aunt Bobbie. We all are and had a great time.

Last night, we spent time at Moms and Bill's house. We always do Christmas eve there, at least when I was growing up. Since Christi and I got married, we did Christmas sometimes in Kansas. When Addi was born, we decided that it was important for Addi to wake up at her house for Christmas. That is why we went to Kansas earlier.

Caroline and Mike moved into their new house. It is really nice and they did a great job in picking out stuff.

Tomorrow we are going to go to my dad's for a little while to see Papa and Dad. Then we will head to Lee Bradly's.

I wanted to say a big thank you to the Wiese family for their donation to Addi's Cure. Kristen, their daughter, was an intern for FIG a couple of summers ago. We got to be really good friends, and she comes over when she is in town to say hey, and also does some things for us like watch the dogs, etc. They have an unbelievable family and were very nice in their donation. David Bidwell donated this week as well. He also sent me an article that was really interesting. Bill and Jo also are donating this week. They wanted to see where we were for the year before they donated. I am certain that we will be over $75,000 in 2006! UNBELIEVABLE.

Letters will go out to all that gave in 2006 this week. This will be your receipt for the donation as far as the IRS is concerned. I am so thankful to everyone, and I am hoping people will see the value in making this an annual donation....

On June 1st, 2006, a doctor told me I might not be here for this Christmas. I am here, and feeling great. This is due to God, your prayers and positive thinking, my wife making sure I eat right, and Duke Medical. I want to thank everyone for that. My goal is 5 years, and I am going to make that goal as well....

I made it back from Florida and flew right into Raleigh, thanks Brian for letting me stay at your house and for picking me up from the airport.

I had a great time in Orlando. Eric Thomes, Steve Kerns, Dennis Brown, and Tim Otto came down to play a little golf. We stay at Reunion in Orlando, and it was really nice. We play 3 courses in two days. Eric Thomes cheated and was the overall winner. (Handicap questionable...) Steve Kerns was the big $$ winner, but had to suffer through playing with us hacks. (He is a 5 handicap, legit I will say) Dennis talked a lot and we realized he needs glasses on when a putt should be good. Tim and I battled it out on side bets and at Boo-Ray, a card game. We went to Shula's for dinner, and all in all, had a blast. We decided we need to do this as an annual deal. Maybe we can make it a big deal for any golfers out there....

Christi drove up and picked me up for the doctor's visit. I was a little worried about this one because I had been coughing some and when I laid down it feels like liquid is moving around in my chest. We got the scans done and had some lunch. Then we met with Dr. Crawford, he might think I am crazy by now and need another head scan. Dr. Crawford found out what the problem was. The scan of the right lung came back the same as previously, still cancer there but no growth. The left side was a little harder to tell. I have a partially collapsed lung which made it difficult to tell if there was any change or growth. This is good and bad. Good in the fact that it is unlikely with my type of cancer to have growth on one side and not the other, which means since there wasn't growth on the right side then hopefully there isn't growth on the left. There is no guarantees, but looks like the Tarceva might be working. The bad news is I have a partially collapsed lung. They are unsure what might have caused this, but since it wasn't due to any surgery they will take the wait and see method and let my body heal itself. There are numerous reasons why this can happen, coughing, sneezing, (Christi thinks hunting and having the gun hit my left side, therefore no hunting in Kansas) If I wasn't in such fabulous, haha, shape I might have had to stay the night and have them take the air out, but since I played 36 holes on Monday and another 18 holes Tuesday, along with hiking a mile with Dennis, he thinks I might be able to handle it. I am just going to rest over the holidays, let me family and friends take care of me and when I go back in 3 weeks they will do more scans and hopefully things have healed themselves. I also have a mild viral infection that I am taking antibiotics for that could have caused me to cough and tear a hole in my lung. The collapsed lung explains the sensations I have been feeling in my chest. I have been so worried that it might have been the cancer, I didn't want to worry everyone. I have never been so happy to have a collapsed lung!
Thank you everyone for the well wishes and prayers, looks like they worked again.

I also received a big surprise from Brian when I was at his house. He works for the UNC university system. He does the secret santa stuff for their office, and this year he was very surprised at the results. The people there, everyone, gave to Addi's Cure for their present. Brian was overwhelmed and I think he might have cried! Just kidding, Brian never cries...) I think this was an unbelievable gesture. I will have everyone listed tomorrow so please check back. They raised $945.00.

I will tell you, I am pumped. If I can be this happy with a partially collapsed lung and cancer, then you should be happy too. We all have battles, we just need to win the war so to speak. I am very thankful to be spending this time with my family.

Thanks!

Hey Everyone it is me Christi...Addi and I are hanging out at home together for the next couple of days. Bo is golfing and working with some friends and we are missing him already. We had an interesting week last week. Addi and I thought it would be fun to get this really great stomach bug that knocks you out for a couple days. At one point her and I were sharing the same bucket to be sick in. Bo had to go out of town so Grams and Aunt Tracia came to help with Addi, only to get it themselves. We are all about sharing in the Johnson house. Needless to say, I think everyone is better. Addi is scared of throwing up every time she burps, but we can manage that.
I wanted to ask everyone out there that is speaking with the "Big Man", as Bo would say, to maybe mention Bo's name to him. We have scans on Wednesday and these are pretty vital in figuring out how and if the Tarceva is working. Bo has been off chemo long enough to figure this out. Bo's is still feeling good, a little head cold, we think, but all in all good. (I am sure he wishes his golf game was better, but that is just him) So if anyone is still reading this, Wednesday is a big day for us and any extra prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Love you all and have a Great Holiday Season
Christi and Addi

Hello to all!

I hope everyone's holiday season is going as well as mine. It has been a lot of fun watching Addi and seeing her get excited about something, she just isn't quite sure what...

*** Important Announcement - addiscure.org is up for you to view! Please visit the fundraising part and submit a recipe. Send all of your friends there as well.

I am back from Iowa where I had a meeting (Equitrust) and did some hunting. My group got 24 birds, but notice I said my group. Good thing Addi and Christi are not waiting at home for me to bring the food! I would have a VERY skinny baby.

It was nice to see everyone at Equitrust. It was a little hard when they talked about a former employee that just died of lung cancer. She was a really great person, and she had even been to our office. It really hit their office hard and I am sure everyone will miss her.

Here are the latest donors to Addi's Cure:

Equitrust (FBL)
Jennifer Semon
David Whitehead - personal
David Whitehead - on a bet he won from me on the Panthers/Eagles (Thanks Dave)
Sharon Havener (with match form from LFG)

Jay Robinson

I was really pumped with all of the excitement with Addi's Cure.

Addi's gone Country!

Tuesday, November 28, 2006

Latest donor to Addi's Cure:

Americo - Michael Merrimon and Gary Muller

Michael Merrimon deserves a special thanks because of his involvement with cancer. He had a family member diagnosed with cancer, and he really knows his stuff. He also has a business that discovers drugs for cancer. He is really doing a lot for cancer, so for him to donate to Addi's Cure is special.

Today I went to the dentist, not to bad. Work was great, and we are at 60 plus now for employees. I think we are going to end this year up 32.6 percent. We are very lucky at FIG.

Christi and Addi are doing well also. Addi is so funny. I will get Christi to put up some new photos soon. Have a great night.

Here is the latest donors to Addi's Cure:

Insurmark
Carolyn Zajac Luby
Lori Bochner
Jenn Thomas
Darryl Chouinard

We are now at $20,810.

I do have some sad news. Mike Dixon, one of my friends who has lung cancer, died on Saturday. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. He was a good man who like me, did not deserve to have this disease. Addi's Cure will be making sure that we try not to let these deaths happen.

Hello Everyone, it is me Christi again...
I just wanted to say hello and tell everyone thank you for thinking about my family over the holidays, we had a great one! I ate way to much! Kansas was good, I didn't get to see as many friends as I would have liked to, but maybe over Christmas we can get together, everyone back there is having babies, so that is crazy. As for a Dad things are looking up. He met when an oncologist when I was back there and they found out that the cancer has spread to his lining, but they don't believe any futher than that. The lymph node test came back negative, so we all hope and pray the surgery got it all. 14 spots around the cancer tissue site came back negative as well. He is on the mend, but he is trying to do to much. So for all you Kansans if you see Larry Morgan out on a job site, send him back to his truck! Just for another couple of weeks, sorry Pa.
As for Bo, I love him, but he sure does get himself into some messes. He obviously put a facemask on that had poison oak on it. His rash is pretty much from the neck up...he is feeling better, but if you are allergic to poison oak, lucky me I am not, stay away from him. We will get him better by Christmas, I hope! It not I will take Christmas anyway, anyday with him.

Thanks too all and see you soon
Christi

Also a big Happy Birthday to our Princess Peyton, she is 3 Today!

PS - I attached a family photo of Addi's first Carolina game, don't worry, I will get to KU next! Way to knock off Florida, I have never been so proud.

Sunday, November 26, 2006

Quick one tonight. We had a blast on thanksgiving. Went hunting and got poison oak.... Maybe will type better tomorrow!

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

Christi and Addi came back tonight from Kansas. I was really happy to see them both. It seems that Addi has grown some, and she was happy to see her daddy.

Last night I did a presentation for Merritt's (my cousin) business class at Western Carolina University. It went very well. I was very surprised after the presentation when she presented me with $800.00 she raised for Addi's Cure. I only report them number because it is UNBELIEVABLE! College students gave out of the goodness of their hearts. Poor college students that are waiting tables, etc. It really was special to me. I have them listed below with all of the other donors. I really appreciate all of the donations, but I remember what it was like in college, and it just was special.

I went to Duke today for a check up. No scans, next time. I did talk to Susan, Tracy, and Dr. Crawford about Addi's Cure and what we should do with the money. There is some interesting research going on at Duke, and we have several options. Duke even talked about being able to give progress reports for the website, which should be up soon.

Here is the latest donors to Addi's Cure:

Jonathan Rice
Don and Heather Carlson
Candi Thomas
Lauren Story
Jami Bracey
Kappa Sigma at WCU
Ashley Thompson
Delta Chi Fraternity at WCU
Sigma Alpha Epsilon at WCU
Alpha Xi Delta at WCU

Thanks everyone, that brings us to: $18,636.00

GREAT JOB!

Friday, November 17, 2006

It has been a little lonely without Christi and Addi around while they are in Kansas. I have been working a lot, and playing with the dogs. We really had a good week at FIG, and met with a lot of really good people. I really like doing business with quality people. This weekend I am going to play a little golf, and of course watch the MI vs OSU game. I think I am going for MI for Dennis Brown.

I am also going to spend some time with my god daughters this weekend. They are really cute little girls, and Peyton and Patterson are their names. I can only suspect that they will be getting in trouble with Addi later in life, although I am not sure which will be leading.... (I think it will be Peyton in the lead, Addi pushing her as well, and Patterson following because she is so laid back...)

Hope everyone has a good weeekend, leave me some comments!

Thursday, November 16, 2006

Wanted to let evertyone know that things are going well. Christi and Addi went out to visit her father in Kansas, so it is just me and the dogs at the house. Christi's dad is really doing well after surgery, and they have not found any more cancerous cells in him. GREAT NEWS.

Going to play a lot of golf this weekend and rest. I have a busy week next week and of course it is Thanksgiving. I am thankful for a lot of things.

I would like to ask everyone to pray for the family of a special friend of mine. She found out she had lung cancer 5 days ago and died this morning. I knew her through work, and she was a lovely lady. It has been a big shock to her family I am sure, so please pray that they deal with this tragic time the best way they can.

Here are some people that have given to Addi's Cure in the last little bit:

Anna Wiseman
Valerie Sancibrian
Carolyn P. Weaver

We appreciate every dime. I have been in talks with Dule and they are very excited about what we are doing. Have a great weekend.

Monday, November 13, 2006

Christi, Addi, and I are back from Hawaii and everything went well. We went over on a business trip with a company called Americo. They were great hosts and then we extended a little bit just to get some family time in. Kristen W. came with us as the "babysitter" and she did a great job with Addi when we had functions. I played golf twice, and played with Addi by the pool. She had a blast. Christi had fun as well, and it was nice for her to have someone there to help her with Addi when I was gone to a meeting, or golf.

While i was there, the majority shareholder of the firm told a story that i thought was inspiring. He talked about his dad being told he had two years to live in 1983 because of cancer. That is why he can in and took over the company. He was very happy to tell us that his dad was celebrating his 80th birthday while we were on the trip. I went up to him at one of the dinners to tell him I appreciated his comments. He was very knowledgeable on cancer and even has a cancer drug discovery business. He is a very nice man. Christi and I sat at his table for the last evening and met his wife Ellen as well. Good people.

We are almost done with the website for Addi's Cure. Here are the latest donations:

Kay Falandys
Rob Tekolste
Mary Garrison
Marylyn Katzer
Angie Cretors
Rachel Mestad
Esfandyar Dinshaw
Larry Gregory
Shelly Melcher of Asset Protection

We are well on our way to our goal of $50,000 by the end of the year. Please ask friends, etc. to donate so we can make it. I am excited and Addi's Cure will be a huge success for years to come.

On a health note on me = everything is still going well. I feel great. One of the reasons I do not update the blog as much now is because i am out living! You never know when the end will come, any of us. Let's take advantage now!

Thursday, November 02, 2006

FIG, my company, had a guest in today. Mark Zesbaugh, CEO of Allianz Life, came in to address everyone at FIG. It was a real treat. Eric Thomes and Clay came in with him. Eric made an announcement about how Allianz and a lot of their employees personally were going to help sponsor Addi's Cure. (It made my Mom cry!)

It was a very nice gesture. I have truly felt blessed that so many people are willing to help this endeavor out. All of the companies I work with have tried to do something for Addi's Cure, at least from personal support. Unbelievable!

As of today, Addi's Cure is at $16,140 just off the blog and people spreading the word. We need to get to at least $25,000 by December so I can match it. I am so pumped about this. Here is a list of people that have donated today:

I will be in Hawaii with Christi and Addi next week so I might have limited access to the blog. Please know that I am so thankful for all of my friends and extended family. You are all making a difference in my experience with Cancer in a very positive way!

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

Hey Everyone it is me Christi...I have good news. My father made it through surgery and things are looking up. Without the results back from the lymph nodes, his doctors are cautiously optimistic that the tumor was contained and they were able to remove it all. It was a rather large tumor, but it wasn't fully attached to the walls of the colon which is very good news. His surrounding organs looked clean showing no signs that it might have spread. We hopefully caught it in time. Now that you know more about my Dad than you wanted to, my entire family wants to thank you for your support and prayers. I especially do, a lot of people asked me what they can do to help, I have one thing to ask: Just know that life is a precious gift, kiss and hug your children, tell your parents you love them everytime you talk to them, call that friend you have been meaning to call, embrace the holidays and spoil everyone rotten and make sure your husband or wife knows that they are the most important person in the world. Let's end 2006 with a bang and make 2007 the best year ever!

Thank you again and let's keep praying for good results for everyone with cancer, for me, both my men.

Addi's Cure update:

Without doing anything but chat on this blog, you have raised $8,190 for this cause. It has been awesome. I have sent out some emails to various companies, so I am expecting them to step up. Doing a charity is harder than I thought, but I am having fun doing it. Many of you have given great ideas for fundraising, and super recipes for our cookbook. Thank you! I am excited and looking forward to Addi's Cure on a website soon. Here are the latest people that have given to the cause:

Brent and Megan Henning
Papa (Bo's Grandpa)
Dad (Bo's Dad)
Bruce and Janet Mullan (Bo's sister Caroline in-laws)
Producer's Web (this is an awesome company that FIG does business with. This was unsolicited which makes it even better!)

I did go to Duke yesterday and did all new scans. Everything came back stable, which is awesome. I think everything I am doing is helping.

Tonight Addi went trick or treating and had a blast. She is doing really well. Christi and I are very proud of her....

Sunday, October 29, 2006

Addi, Christi, and I went to the mall today to mess around. It was a lot of fun. There is a store called Express, and it plays "techno" music. Addi stopped in the doorway as we were walking by and started dancing. It was a lot of fun seeing her. She has a big personality, that is for sure.

We did get some potentially bad news this week. Christi's dad found out he has colon cancer. While this is a blow, we are really positive that things will work out. We believe that the surgery he will have on Wednesday of this week will take care of it. Please make sure you pray hard for him, the family needs it. I think he has a good chance to have surgery and a full recovery!

I also ask you to pray for Christi. Today is our anniversary of when we first met 5 years ago at the now famous interview. Ask her about it sometime.... She does not deserve to have to male influences in her life having these problems. This has certainly stressed her out, but she has been a saint. Please say a little prayer for her as well.

Hello out there!

I am back from LA and I did see a doctor there. He is from China originally, and was very nice. I am drinking a tea made from herbs that he gave me. It is awful and stinks. Here is his info:

Quick update:

I am in LA right now and I am going to see a doc that Christi wants me to see. This guy is pretty famous in China. Terry Morgan sent us over his stuff and bam, here I am. I was on PHX on business and decided to take a day trip up to LA to see this guy. I will let you know how it goes.

Addi's Cure - Thanks Jeanne T. for the donation, very sweet. We have opened the account now so all of you should be seeing a letter from us soon showing your donation....

Some people have asked to see Addi's busted up nose...She did this the day before her birthday, this is on her birthday.

Hello from Cornelius....

I am on my way to Arizona tomorrow so I wanted to update everyone on what has been going on. Basically boring, except FIG has had the best two months we have ever had in history. Matt Hand and I played golf on Friday afternoon, then hung out with Christi and Addi today. We took Addi to the Renaissance festival and she was not having it....

I will be in AZ until Tuesday late, but I am playing golf twice so that is good.

I have gotten a lot of emails about Addi's Cure, and I appreciate it. I think we are going to do a fundraiser that is simple first, that being a cookbook. That being said, I would like everyone to send recipes to me. They need to be full deals with everything you need. I also want your name to put by it. It needs to be lunches, dinners, and desserts. Please send any you have to bojohnson2@hotmail.com and please ask your friends to help. We will try to do it for the holidays. I will let you know more details soon....

Curtis and Erin Morgan gave to Addi's Cure this weekend. We are over $6,000 so far.

This has been a very good week, we have a softball game so we are racing to that in just a little bit. Christi and I have been trying to find some fundraising events to do and people have sent a bunch of great ideas, we will let you know what we are planning something very soon. People have been extremely generous, it is overwhelming the generosity out there. This is an updated list of more people that have sent money:

Justin Jacquinot
Chip and Kathy Lee
Phil Graham
Daniel and Andrea Cain
Cody and Jennifer Foster
Jay West
Terry Morgan
Isaiah Smith
John and Kim Salvatore

I am very happy to say that the total is $5725.00. This is great. I am asking for one more favor - ask anyone you can to send a donation as well. They can send it to:

Addi's Cure
c/o Bo Johnson
19520 West Catawba Ave
Suite 200
Cornelius, NC 28031

My next line of fire is to ask some of the companies that I work with for dome help. I am hoping to raise $100k by December 31. It is really a big goal. I need everyones help.

Addi, Christi and I are very pumped about how things are going. See you soon!

Several things to get to today so please read all of this. Very important!

I want to thank Neal Karn for putting together a book for me with pictures and words of encouragement from a lot of my friends. It must have been very difficult to coordinate all of that, and I was touched! It was really awesome and I want to thank everyone for sending in stuff to Neal. It made me tear up....

I also wanted to give an update on Addi's Cure. It is very important to me that this project be VERY successful. We have started designing the website (Lauren and Anna) and letterhead, and I have everything to set up the banking except for the tax id number which should be here this week. We have brainstormed for our first event, and there have been several good suggestions: casino night, New Years Eve Bash, bike race, walk race, funny tri-atholon, bake sale, and many more. We are trying to have something before the end of the year. I would like to have two things annually, one in the spring, one in the late fall. IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE EMAIL ME OR PUT IN A COMMENT! Your giving has been overwhelming and I appreciate it. Here is another list of people who have given:

Chris and Crystal Dodds (Christi's sister and brother in law)
Larry and Terri Morgan (Christi's parents)
Mike Katzer (Christi's uncle)
Mike and Caroline Mullan (my sister and brother in law)
Tashawna Rodwell
Wade and Kenda Laughey
Terry and Anita Cook
God (not making fun, a nice girl sent me her tithe)
Kelly Stamey

These people sent in $1245.00, and the total so far is $3,870.00. Unbelievable!

Last but not least, I went to Norfolk this weekend to see a guy called Adam the healer. It was very interesting, and i learned several techniques for visualization. This is a guy I learned about on ABC, and so think he is a fraud. He never claimed to me to be anything other than someone who believes that each person has the ability to heal themselves. The science behind this is amazing and it shows how important it is to have the right environment around you at all times. This is not just where you live, but also the type of people around, what you eat, stress, etc. If anyone ever wants to check this guy out, you can go to dreamhealer.com and see for yourself. I learned as much about how to work with Addi as I did about me, so in both ways it was worth it.

Congrats to Merritt for being homecoming queen at WCU!

Love you all!

Today is all about Addi!

Today is my daughter's first birthday, and I am so proud. She is such an amazing little girl, so much spirit and personality. I can not even begin to express how much I love her.

We are having a party at a park here in town. She is going to have some little friends over to play, it will be fun. No ponies this year, she is too little, but there will be a bigger blow out next year. I would go ahead and schedule it, since the race may be the same weekend.

I know that a lot of people that read this are parents. I used to not understand how you could love someone so much that you would do anything for that person. I met Christi and felt this way, however, having a kid is different. If something does happen to me, I know that everyone might be sad, but it will get better for those people with time. Addi is a different story, because it would linger with her whenever someone asks about her daddy. I have promised her at least 5 years. I did that believing in medical science and God, knowing that they would take care of me after that.

Please say a little prayer for Addi today. She deserves it for one, and for two, she needs all the help she can get being my daughter.... :)

Sorry Bo fans, it's me Christi.
We made it back from Chemo #6, that last one in this cycle. Bo took it like a champ. We met briefly with the doctor, Susan, and from here on out we let Bo's body heal up and do his thing. I feel like this is the most important time in Bo's fight. We are strenuously concentrating on his diet, exercise and positive attitude, I think he has the last one down pat. The diet is moving up a notch. We are going to eat more green leafy veggies than any known person will eat. Bo is going to step up the exercise also, if anyone in our area likes to ride in the morning let us know, I can't keep up that well, tried, but hurts the Morgan rear. (Don't worry Terry, I won't let him work out to throw his PH Balance off) There is a theory that lactic acid feeds cancer as well, so we will just work out at a steady pace.

On a personal note, thank you to everyone praying for us, helping with Addi and supporting Addi's Cure. I think it is so important to educate people that lung cancer isn't a smoker's cancer. I get extremely frustrated when we tell people Bo has lung cancer and they say, "Oh I didn't know he smoked?" I kindly inform them smoking or not, no one deserves cancer. I think lung cancer is under funded because people blame others for having it because they smoked, that just isn't true. We have heard so many stories at Duke and from others of non-smokers having lung cancer. I figure the more people getting educated, hopefully, the more research and funding will happen. I told Bo today that I am going to write Oprah, Katie course and every other reporter out there about this and try to get someone to tell the whole story and Bo can then explain how he is fighting this and winning. Oh well, enough of that.
Sorry so long, but I talk a lot. Addi turns 1 Friday, the 13th! I wish we would have planned that better. So we are busy planning our little party. I am so excited that my Mom is flying out, I wish my whole family could be here, but I certainly understand.
Take care everyone and be safe
Love, Christi

The total so far is $2,625,00. On December 31st, I am going to match whatever has been given up to $25,000. I am going to mail out letters to all of the companies I do business with and see if i can not get a little donations from them as well. All accounting will be avaiable on the website as well, so everyone can see what we are doing. Don't forget, I have not deposited any check yet because I am waiting on one thing the bank needs. I will have it by the end of next week.

Thanks for everything from all of you!

I wanted to start out by saying thank you for the outpouring of notes and checks to Addi's Cure. Just from the blog only, we have rasied over $2500. I am so impressed with you guys.

I would also ask that you send me some ideas on what kind of fund raiser to have first. Remember, whatever we can raise by December 31st, I will match up to $25,000! Give me some good ideas...

I was supposed to have chemo on Wed but one of my blood counts was too low. Bummer! However, there was very good news. If you read before or remember, the last time I had scans I said that I was stable, no reduction. Well that is not entirely true. I talked with the PA at Duke and they did a little more research on my scans. Although there was no major reduction, there was some.... Very pumped.

Also there is some good news on Mike D. He has lung cancer as well, and he has had a 50% reduction! Way to go Mike D.

Tomorrow is FIG's Golf Outing. I need to play well. Wish me luck....

Tomorrow is chemo time! Last one of the planned chemo, so I am excited. I have really done well so far, and I am not expecting anything less.

I am really excited about many people sending in cards with a donation for Addi's Cure. I will list everyone this weekend on the blog to say thank you. I am so excited. Christi and I are trying to plan our first event before the end of the year. I think it will be a hoot. Seriously, thank you to all.

This week has been busy! Addi has been a trooper and is doing so well. Christi is doing well also. Last night, we had salmon from Alaska from Dave Whitehead in Philly. It was really good, so thanks Dave!

I will check in tomorrow night to tell you how chemo went.

The wedding of the century is over, and Caroline and Mike are headed to HI for the honeymoon. It will be difficult to call her Caroline Mullan, but I got used to Tracia Beasley so I am sure I will get along. There has been a lot to do with the wedding this weekend, so I will start with Friday golf. Curtis (Christi's brother) and I were paired up with Mike's dad Bruce. We played at Raintree. It was a great day, lots of fun. Basically, Curtis and I played bad. I always wonder why I play bad, since I play all of the time!!!! Any way, we had fun. Friday night was the rehearsal dinner, and it was at a place called A Room with a View. It was very nice and Addi was a star there as well as Caroline. I also got the first donation for Addi's Cure there, from Mr. Bob Axelrod. Thanks Bob, and thanks for the extra couple of zeros!

Saturday was the big day. I had to be down there at 3:30 or so. I was a groomsmen as well as walked Caroline down the isle. It was a nice wedding, and Caroline certainly looked beautiful. Addi was the flower girl, and she made it down the aisle pretty well with Christi's help. The reception was awesome, but I have to admit that it was hard. No matter how confident you are about cancer, you always wonder things. I was dancing with Addi and I wondered if I was going to be around on her wedding day. It made me sad. I also hate that Caroline is always going to have to look at her wedding pictures and see my bald head. Whether it turns out good or bad for me, Caroline will always have that memory.

Addi loves the music so when the band was playing she was dancing. It was really funny. Sunday we are going to have brunch with my dad, then take Curtis and Erin to the airport. Their daughter Ryan is so cute.

All in all a fun weekend. I will do another post soon!
